Welcome to the website of St Cadoc's Church,
the parish church of the Rectorial Benefice of Pontypool
The church is a well used venue for community activity, an educational resource, by the local primary schools and used for researching family history, locally, nationally and internationally because of the availability of the burial, marriage and baptismal records (from c1650 to present day) relating to the 15,000+ interments in the churchyard - reputed to be the largest in the country.
St Cadoc's Church Trevethin St. Cadoc is one of the celebrated saints of the Dark Ages in Britain. It is thought that he was born towards the end of the 5th century and eventually became abbot of Llancarfan, near Cowbridge, which was one of the major places of learning for the whole of the British Isles during many centuries.
